Release announcements popup

Hi All

On my laptop (Linux knoppix 8.1) the Release Announcements popup appears in such away that I can't mark it as read, move it or kill it off.

This popup blocks everything on the screen beneath it, which means I have functions I cannot reach as the popup is blocking access.

Any ideas on what to do with this?
