Octolapse: Insert gcode M240

Hi!
Is it possible to insert M240 when the timelapse photo is taken?
I modified the firmware on my Prusa i3 mk2 to make the M240 gcode work for my Nikon camera.
It would be great if I could use octolapse to activate my camera.

Regards,
Jonas

Hi
Just to be clear : you wish to activate the bundled timelapse tool and make him send a GCode to trigger your Nikon, that's right ?

In this case, I don't think it's doable (needs confirmation)

But you can use the Custom GCode in your Slic3r PE (I assume) to insert M240 ie. on layer change
Or you can use a post processing script witch will insert those M240 on its own (more complicated but more flexible)
Then you don't even need to use bundled timelapse or octolapse plugin (but I guess you'll have to stich the pictures together yourself)

Hi there! Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment, but this seems like a pretty good feature! Would you mind creating a new feature request at the github site here:https://github.com/FormerLurker/Octolapse/issues/new

Your request seems similar to this one: https://github.com/FormerLurker/Octolapse/issues/125

except that you want to bypass the snapshot process entirely. I've had other requests to allow for other external camera options, so maybe it would be better to combine with this feature request: https://github.com/FormerLurker/Octolapse/issues/124

Thanks for submitting your question!

Hi!
Thank you for answering!
My request is very similar to the ones you linked to.
Bypass the snapshot process would be nice too, but I also have a webcam. So all I really need is a way to put in M240 when the snapshot is taken.
And if I could insert a 0.5 sec delay for stabilizing the bed everything would be perfect
